The 20-man "removal team" cleared the juction of Argyle Street and Nathan Road in just 45 minutes. They cut the plastic cordons, tape and strong adhesives that held the barricades in place, and confiscated wooden pallets, fencing and umbrellas.See images from the clearance below.
With the barricades cleared at around 11.15am, the bailiffs breached the protest zone and moved to dismantle remaining tents.
Police officers, deployed to assist the bailiffs if necessary, formed a line at the intersection to prevent demonstrators from re-occupying the area. Minutes later, some officers, yelling "Open the road", began pushing back protesters in an apparent attempt to clear a passage for debris to be carried away to a waiting truck.

佔中升級：絕食衝刺“和理非”禁錮
（泡泡報導） 12月1號，佔中運動進行至第65天，借台灣九合一選舉熱潮,香港抗議人士發動的包圍政總行動失敗後，抗議領袖黃之鋒和其他兩名學生組織成員宣布立即開始“無限期”絕食。 隨後學生在社交網站facebook上宣布說，“生於亂世，甘願付上代價負上責任。”他們表示,絕食旨在強迫香港政府對他們要求自由選舉作出回應，要求香港政府重啟對話，要求中國政府撤回甄選香港特首候選人的決定。 據港媒報導，參與絕食的三名年輕人在絕食期間只喝水。 與此同時，香港佔領街頭的抗議者正在想方設法尋找為爭取真普選給政府施加壓力的新途徑。

另 一位大陸知名異議人士王荔蕻女士則直言反對絕食，她在推特上說：“你們的身體並不僅僅屬於你們自己，也寄託著十三億人的希望！你們稚嫩瘦弱的肩膀已經承載 太多，不希望再用你們年輕的生命去拼死一博。他們不會因為你們是為了公義站出來而心存欽佩、憐憫的，他們沒有心的，再想個可行的辦法吧”。 王荔蕻女士曾在佔中運動啟動之初參與剃光頭聲援香港抗爭活動。
知名媒體人北風表示：“我反對黃之鋒等人絕食，因為他們還太小。我支持泛民或大學生參與或陪同絕食，大人不要把抗爭的責任推給小孩。這是弱者最後的武器。在'和平、理性、非暴力'（以下稱'合理非'）的限制下，當所有的辦法已經用盡，絕食有其不可替代的作用”。 但截止發稿時，尚未見到有香港的政治人物宣佈出來陪同學生絕食。

在“和理非”完全不起作用、或者當局鎮壓“和理非”的情況下，香港民主人士又當如何堅持?!.
